This year Android's several major mobile phone brands have also begun to use a large number of wireless charging functions, international brands Samsung, LG, Sony, Nokia, Chinese brands Jinli, Xiaomi, Huawei and other flagship models support wireless charging. Not only that, it is reported that more flagship models of Chinese brands will continue to follow up and carry wireless charging functions this year. According to this trend, wireless charging will be a standard feature of consumer electronics products such as mobile phones.


The WPC Wireless Charging Alliance has now exceeded 526 members, including domestic mobile phone makers such as Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu, and ZTE. At the same time, this figure is still increasing every month, showing that the wave of wireless charging technology has quietly come.


Under the trend of wireless charging, how to seize the opportunity to earn profits?


In three areas: standards, customer experience, materials, and implementation.


The standard is divided into two types: Qi and AirFuel. It is finally determined that the mobile phone manufacturer needs the Qi standard.

The customer experience includes three aspects: charging range, charging speed, and charging heat. In the wireless charging process, the transmitting and receiving ends need to be aligned. Otherwise, eddy currents may be generated, resulting in power loss and temperature rise. The alignment solution is three-coil or multi-coil. The automatic alignment and interactive alignment of the internal mechanical structure have been tried, and the experience is not very good. It also indicates that the latest Qi specification is magnetic suction because of magnetic interference to the device. There are also restrictions on the alignment. The challenges of temperature control: power device confinement, coil loss, single chip cooling, RX output voltage architecture.


Material and implementation are also divided into three areas: materials, high frequency, and capacitive. The new material coil, the coil thickness is thin, the internal resistance of the coil is small; the high-frequency wireless charging, the inductance is reduced, the internal resistance of the coil is reduced; and the wireless charging is realized by the switched capacitor method, and the coil is omitted.


According to the market research company's wireless power receiver market report, in 2015, the global wireless charging receiver market was 144 million units, an increase of more than 160% year-on-year. It is expected that 2020 shipments will reach 1 billion units, and the compound growth rate will reach 30%. According to data from authoritative organizations, it is expected that by 2020, the market size of wireless charging terminal products will reach 25 billion U.S. dollars.
